What is Google Cloud Source Repository ?

  • A Git version control system to support development of any application or service .

  • Automatically build and test the source code in collaboration with other Google Cloud Repository like Cloud Build.

Why Google Cloud Source Repository ?

  • For instance , think of a scenario where you are maintaining a repo on your local system , but suddenly due to some circumstances your system gets corrupt . Your valuable data is lost , here comes the Google Cloud repository with Automatic Syncing and high availability.

  • Think of another scenario where you want some developers of your organization to  contribute to your repository, but your repo is still present locally

  • It is very easy to use as you just need to know basic commands and functionality of git for using Cloud Source Repository .

  • Just like git , it gives you unlimited access to Private repositories with high availability.

  • You can also track the versions by tracking the given ID.

Lab Tasks:

  1. Create and add content to a Cloud Source repository

  2. Push the Local Repo to Source Repository.

  3. Make some changes to the code and push the repository again.
